Leica’s first rugged digital camera, the Leica X-U<\/strong> is shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof. The X-U has an IP68 waterproof rating and handles depths up to 15 meters for up to 60 minutes. The lens has a protective underwater filter and a dedicated underwater snapshot button. The X-U is compliant with MIL-STD 810G for shock resistance and can withstand falls from 4 feet.<\/p>\n The X-U’s lens is a Leica Summilux 23mm f\/1.7 ASPH. (with field of view equivalent to a 35mm lens in 35mm format), and it has a large APS-C CMOS sensor (23.6 x 15.7mm) with over 16 megapixels. The X-U is also capable of shooting HD 1080p and 720p videos at 30 frames per second in MP4 format. The Leica X-U measures 5.5 \u00d7 3.1 \u00d7 3.4 inches and weighs 22.4 ounces with battery.<\/p>\n In terms of image quality, the Leica X-U will be the top rugged digital camera when it launches in late January 2017. Retail price is $2,950.<\/p>\n
